We are pleased to announce a new release of Hall Monitor for iOS (1.3.132), Android (1.3.135) and Windows 8.1 (1.3.0.135).
Here is the list of enhancements and corrections that are included in this release:
* Touch Attendance is now supported on iOS and Android
* Minor design changes on iOS and Android (Added icons at the left of titles for list, etc.)
* Changed the process for accessing a classroom’s list of students. (iOS and Android)
o Viewing students in a room during a certain period and day is now done through the schedule
* By popular demand, we’ve added a Birthdays page and Birthday support within the app
o A dedicated Birthdays page shows the list of students who are celebrating birthdays today and indicates their age
o Everywhere else you view a child who has a birthday in the app, you will see a small birthday cake icon next to their name/profile
o Now school staff can more easily view birthdays and wish their students a happy birthday
For next month’s release we are planning the following:
* User Management
o Restrict information available depending on the role (admin, substitute teachers, teachers, principals etc.)
o Variables within the app can be hidden or shown depending on user type/role
o As the user base for Hall Monitor expands from administrative users to teaching staff, we have been asked to restrict individual student information on a per user basis. A good example of User Management is to provide temporary access to a substitute teacher for attendance taking of a particular class on a specific day.
o Please note: The user access rights can be inherited from existing systems and
